While some games are a lot better to play on the PC, we understand that a key thing for gaming is accessibility. This is why devices like the PSP and the Nintendo Switch did so well upon their release and why the mobile is becoming one of the newest powerhouses in gaming.
The overall experience of a PC may be better, but for more casual gamers, we understand that the purchase of an expensive gaming PC that can run games quickly and smoothly is simply out of reach.
With this in mind, today, we want to look at some of the best games over the last few years that players who have a PlayStation, an Xbox or even a Switch have sadly missed out on.
CSGO
Although I just wrote that I wanted to stick to recent years, it’s hard to pass up talking about one of the best shooter games of all time, and my favorite. Now, this is a game that technically has been on a console before, with it being briefly released on the PlayStation 3 in the early 2010s.
However, it fell flat on its face and was not as beloved by fans purely because of the playing style. When it was released, the capabilities between a PC and a Playstation were a lot different than they are today. Even now the difference in power largely leaned towards the PC but back then it was even more drastic and caused the game to be slow and borderline unplayable.
Now, over a decade and two consoles since its release, the PS5 is a different beast compared to its predecessors and CSGO games now could do well and have potential. It also allows PlayStation players to look for CSGO gambling sites, like those found at csgambling.net, which is a huge reason why CSGO has lasted so long in the gaming industry.
League Of Legends
When it comes to longevity in gaming, League Of Legends is a textbook example and a major success. With the game nearly being 2 decades old. It feels like every year the game is increasing in popularity and getting better. With regular updates and the internet making it into a bit of a joke (mainly about the players), League is iconic.
If you are a console gamer and you have never played League, it may seem run of the mill but it is almost addictive and gets your brain ticking enough to keep you interested for hours. The main concept of the game is you are in two teams of five with each player picking a character, known as a champion, and you fight each other to defend your half of the map.
The Champions all have different abilities and features that add to the unique experience. During each game, the champion you use will get stronger by collecting XP (experience points similar to Call of Duty) and earning gold which is used to further strengthen your character and lead to you purchasing more items to beat the opposition.
When you write it all out and reread it, you come to realize that the game may sound boring and a bit long-winded, but when you play it you understand why it is so loved. Unlike CSGO, I can’t see the game translating to Playstation with the closest thing being a spinoff.
Game Types That PC Excell At
This page has been about two games that are very different but play incredibly well on PC and the reason these two games are so popular on PC and don’t have the Playstation or Xbox availability is because of the way they are run. It would be difficult to make League or CSGO as smooth as it is on PC.
These two game types are not the only ones that play better on PC with sandbox games, like Minecraft and story-based first-person shooter games both being some of the more popular and loved games available. The graphics and the way they are run make the game feel a play better than the consoles can handle.
